- But It’s Not Google
- A somewhat cynical acronymic translation of Microsoft’s new search engine.

The name, presumably, is supposed to evoke the sound of a winning game-show bell. The cynics online, however, joke that Bing is an acronym for “But It’s Not Google.”Over at PCmag.com, John C. Dvorak suggested a host of other possible meanings for Bing:Big Investment, No Goals Bing Is Not Groovy Brought In New Garbage Big Incompetent Net Grub Bill, It’s No Good! But It’s Nearly Google Be Innovative, Not Geeky!
